As Executor or Administrator of an estate, Marilyn will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, securing and taking possession of the decedent’s assets
  • Selling assets as necessary or required
  • Verifying outstanding debts
  • Preparing an inventory of all of the assets of the decedent’s estate
  • Identifying and address all of the decedent’s income tax liabilities
  • Determining applicability of federal estate tax laws
  • Periodically communicating with estate beneficiaries regarding status and progress of estate administration
  • Preparing an accounting of the estate administration
  • Pursuing or defending legal actions involving the decedent
  • Addressing other financial, legal and tax issues that might arise
  • Arranging for the distribution of assets in accordance with the terms of decedent’s will, if any, and in the manner proved by law
